I graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, and I have mad love for my fellow alums. When Caroline and I first met, we instantly connected over our alma mater. Vandy is where Caroline met Joe in her junior year of college. They’d bump into each other on elevators and parties, but eventually when their respective suites came together to cook dinner one night, it was magic. They learned that they had many of the same interests and outlook on life. During their time at Vanderbilt, they bonded at Dores sporting events, studying together in the Central Library, and eating at the various restaurants on campus. They even met Taylor Swift once at Fido (a local coffee shop) in Hillsboro Village near campus.
After college, Caroline went to veterinary school at Tufts, and Joe went to law school at the University of Alabama. They started a long distance relationship, and they made it work. They took turns visiting one another, and finally when they both graduated and Caroline finished her internships, they both moved to the Boston area, and the rest is history!
They decided to get married in the city where they first fell in love at the Church of the Assumption in Germantown, followed by a reception at the Cambria Hotel. Caroline chose the wedding colors of dusty blue, peony pink, and marsala. Her bouquet and the dusty blue of the bridesmaids dresses gave the wedding a Provence, French-inspired feel, and I thought it was such a pretty combination. All of Caroline’s bridesmaids got matching temporary tattoos, which paid tribute to her Irish roots. Their reception at the Cambria Hotel was a relaxed affair. The couple changed reception venues at the last minute (their original venue had to cancel due to a code violation). The Cambria ballroom didn’t have enough seating for all their guests, so friends and family took turns using the tables and they mixed and mingled, nibbling on finger foods and appetizers all night long. At the end of the night, Caroline and Joe had a sparkler exit and then enjoyed a bicycle taxi ride around downtown. This was such a gorgeous wedding, and one of my favorites from this past spring!
