Alexandrea’s Bridal Session at Scarritt Bennett & Wightman Chapel

I can’t keep my excitement to myself anymore! Now that Alexandrea and Darius are married, I can share the photos from this amazing bridal session with you!

I took Alexandrea and Darius’ engagement photos at Centennial Park, and I was beyond happy that they hired me to shoot this gorgeous bridal session. These bridal portraits are stunning, and of course, I had a gorgeous model. The overcast sky outside offered gorgeous illumination indoors, the interior of Scarritt Bennet radiates with old-fashioned charm.

Alexandrea and her mom met met at Scarritt Bennett Center on a gloomy Sunday afternoon. Since it was misty outside, we started our photo shoot in the bridal suite. I’ve shot at this venue several times before, so I knew the location well. The bridal suite has a gorgeous window that lets so much lovely light in from the outside.

This portrait is one of my absolutely favorites. It has a dreamy, film quality that I adore.

We moved on to another area of Scarritt Building, one with another window, one that offered dramatic lighting and made for gorgeous photographs.

Isn’t Alexandrea a gorgeous bride?

We moved on to Wightman Chapel and took bridal portraits within the church. Wightman Chapel is a historic landmark in Nashville. I have a 101-year-old “grandmother” who told me that everyone in her time got married at Wightman Chapel. It’s still as beautiful today as it was back in the day.

Alexandrea’s veil was long and had so much gorgeous detail.

We headed upstairs to the choir area, and the view was spectacular.

Before we ended our Scarritt Bennet bridal session, we had some fun with her veil and the wind.

If you haven’t considered it before, all brides should have a bridal session. It’s the perfect time to test your make-up and hair before the big day. You can see how well it will hold up, and you can get amazing portraits of you in your wedding dress. Typically on a wedding day, time is limited and there’s just not enough time to have time to take bridal portraits.

I love taking bridal portraits as it gives me more time to get to know my bride. Since we will be spending a lot of time together on a wedding day, it helps her see my style and how I shoot photographs. I typically make all sessions a fun and enjoyable time. I have a very laid-back, relaxed personality, but I will give you poses and suggestions as we shoot the portraits. It’s so much fun. Contact me if you’re interested in booking your bridal session!
