Josh and I traveled to Jackson, Missouri to photograph the wedding of Kelsie and Charlie at the end of October. It was a dreadfully overcast day, freezing temperatures, and the lightest snow. Despite the cold weather, this wedding was absolutely amazing.
Kelsie and Charlie rode the bus together when they were kids, and were friends throughout high school but they never dated. They both left for college, and fast forward five years, they met at the fair and sparks flew. They went on their first date a week later, and the rest is history!
Their wedding day was seriously amazing. Kelsie owns a bridal shop in Jackson, MO where the girls got ready, while the guys got dressed at their church. Kelsie designed her dress with one of her designers, and wow was it amazing. I loved the lace detail on the short sleeve. Her flowers were classic, white with a pop of greenery. The couple was married at Kelsie’s family church in Jackson, with a reception in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
The groom’s parents own a tree farm in Jackson, and they incorporated that greenery into various wedding decorations. The groom’s family also owns horses, so after the wedding, they and the wedding party went on a horse and open carriage ride. It was seriously a delight to photograph! The final touch was the cake topper. The groom created the cake topper himself.
We captured wedding party photos in downtown Cape Girardeau before we headed to Ray’s Plaza Banquet Center for the reception. It was an amazing day, and I could not be happier with the images that Josh and I captured on this amazing wedding day. (You can’t even tell how cold and frigid it was outside!)
