I simply can’t over how gorgeous this wedding was! I loved everything about the day – Jackie’s amazing wedding dress from Kitty Chen to how Josh was instantly wowed from the moment he set eyes on her during their first look to the AMAZING location inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, where we captured bride and groom portraits after their wedding ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in downtown Gatlinburg, TN.
Josh and Jackie are also just good people. They and their families were honestly the nicest people. They were so kind and considerate to me the entire day and made sure that I was well hydrated (so nice, especially on a humid day in May in the Tennessee). I appreciated their kindness, and I just loved spending time with this family. I wish I could relive their wedding day over and over again.
Josh and Jackie met in college while playing ultimate frisbee. Jackie felt the spark immediately. She had never felt that way about anyone before. He graduated before her, when they reconnected a few years later, their love for one another resurfaced and she realized that he was the one. For Josh, he knew that she was the one when he drove two hours to see her when she was having a bad day. He stayed until he knew that she felt better, and he refused to leave until she was better. He didn’t drive home until 2 am that night (not arriving until 4am), but he smiled the entire way home, knowing that he had done his job and she was happy again. I mean, HOW SWEET IS THAT?!
After six years of dating, they eloped in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. They married in a simple Catholic ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gatlinburg, TN, followed by a casual dinner with 30 of their closest friends and family who were able to travel down to see their wedding. It was such a beautiful day, and I am so honored to be a part of it!
I love when I get to shoot destination weddings. They make me so happy, and when the images are this gorgeous, I just love, love, love my job even more!
