What better way to celebrate New Year’s Eve than getting married? I spent the last day of 2017 photographing Sarah and Samuel’s wedding at Grbic Restaurant and Private Event Space. This was such a fun wedding, and a wonderful way to start 2018.
Sarah and Samuel opted not to have getting ready photos, so we started with bride and groom portraits, and family photos at the Magnolia Hotel in downtown St. Louis. It was a freezing cold day, but everyone braved the negative digits as the last wisps of sunlight disappeared. I love the nighttime portraits we captured under the string lights outside the restaurant next door to the hotel.
After portraits, we traveled to Grbic Private Events for their intimate wedding ceremony. The flower girls threw confetti, as their cellist played “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” during the bride’s entrance. (I love Disney-loving brides!) After their first kiss as husband and wife, Sarah’s matron of honor and her husband (the officiant) took a selfie, as well as the best man with the new Mr and Mrs. It was such a fun moment to capture! Guests blew bubbles as they recessed down the aisle. Afterwards, champagne was passed around and everyone hung out and chatted until it was time for the reception.
Sarah and Samuel’s reception was beautifully decorated in hues of gold and white with burgundy accents. I loved the round sphere centerpieces on each table. They were perfect for a winter wedding, and they were designed to look like snow globes. (The couple had their first date in the snow, and got engaged on a snowy day, so the snow globe-inspired centerpieces were a perfect way to express their love!) I loved the paper flower wall that the bride and groom made for the sweetheart table.
