Olga and Scott’s wedding was one of my favorites from last December. Their wedding was featured in St. Louis Magazine’s “Weddings.” You can read more about their love story in that wonderful write-up.
The bride and groom are both lawyers in Washington, D.C. but they decided to get married in St. Louis, where Olga is from. Olga’s father is from Greece, and Scott proposed to her atop Greece’s ancient Acropolis while they were on vacation. How romantic is that?
I loved hearing about their love story. They met in New York and would walk around the city for hours, getting to know each other, and talking. They are definitely a couple that loves to travel and explore new destinations and they incorporated this into their wedding theme. Each table had a different location where they’ve travelled, and they also used a map to help guests locate their table.
About a year after they met, in December, they went on their first trip to Europe – Munich, Prague, and Berlin. In honor of how special December is to them, they decided to get married in the last month of the year.
They were married on the day before New Year’s Eve. It was a freezing December 30, 2017, in the single digits, but Olga, Scott, their wedding party and even family braved the cold for beautiful portraits outside. I love outside light – it’s soft and natural. Olga chose the perfect winter wedding colors for her special day – deep red, purple, and golds. Her mother painted the vases that were used in their centerpieces, and their wintery flowers complimented them so beautifully. I loved Olga’s bridesmaids dresses. They have a very festive vibe to them – perfect for a New Year’s Eve Eve wedding! My favorite moment of the reception – the dance-off between the groom and his groomsmen. So much fun!
