This October was full of stormy, cloudy days, though. Sometimes, magic happens immediately after my weddings – the sun came out for just a little bit, just in time for my bride and groom portraits. That’s what happened on Eric and Katie’s wedding day!
Eric and Katie were married on October 7, 2017 at St. Agatha Church, followed by a beautiful reception at The Rose of the Hill. It was a lovely day! Katie got ready in the church basement; the couple opted not to have a first look, and it was too stormy to take any photos outside before the wedding. Her wedding dress was so lovely, and it looked so amazing on her! After the wedding, we scrambled figuring out where to go on the rainy day, so we headed for the awning under the Muny … where ALL the bride and grooms of St. Louis head en mass on rainy days. We waited and took our turn under the awning … and minutes later, the sun decided to come out! And it was BEAUTIFUL. My associate photographer, Kathleen, who happened to be our second shooter that day, walks Forest Park a lot and she suggested we go to this pathway at the edge of the park. It was a beautiful path, and Eric and Katie enjoyed some private moments together, which I captured. I loved the wildflowers that dotted the path. So pretty!
We headed to the Rose of the Hill for a fun reception! My favorite moment was the groom dancing with his elderly grandmother. She was absolutely surprised, and it was a very sweet moment! I think everyone teared up.
Enjoy these gorgeous photos from their wedding day. Many thanks to Wendy from the Savvy Bride for Wedding Planning and Coordination, and the Soulard Florist for the beautiful flowers!
