Megan and Jacob are a very sweet couple. They love each other’s company, have fun together, and just love being together. They were married at St. Paul’s Evangelical Church on a sunny September afternoon with a reception at Syberg’s Dorsett for their reception.

This wedding offered some challenges. First, the bride and groom both got ready at the church – inside one of the offices. The lighting inside a church office isn’t the most flattering, but I made it work! They chose not to do a first look and saw each other for the first time during their ceremony. During their ceremony, the church has strict policies for photographers to stay at the back during most of the ceremony (with an option to go to the balcony), so I brought a second shooter for the ceremony to help me out. I was very pleased at the shots that we both got of their ceremony – we captured all the moments and even guest reactions!

Their flowers, created by Wildflowers in St. Louis, were the perfect autumnal blend with hues of maroon (so popular this season) and oranges. And instead of the traditional robes, Megan bought all her bridesmaids shirts that read, “I Do Crew,” which I thought were so very clever! And of course, Megan’s own shirt said “I Do.” Love, love, love it!

They had a fun bubble exit after their ceremony, and we went to downtown St. Charles for wedding party photos and bride and groom portraits. One of the groomsmen helped carry my stool (because I am short, and I carry this stool with me everywhere). This was SO nice of him. (No groomsmen ever help me carry anything, so that just made my day!) The light for portraits were absolutely perfect!

Their Syberg’s Dorsett reception was also loads of fun. Lots of fun dancing, and Megan and Jake’s first dance was a choreographed dance to “It Had to Be You!” It was SUCH an awesome day! Congrats Megan and Jacob!
