Winter weddings are the best, and Bailey and Axel’s wedding at the Promenade by Westin in St. Louis was a day filled with elegance, so much love, and the best people you’ll meet. The couple met while students at Lindenwood University. They immediately hit it off and have been madly in love ever since. Their love shows, too. Axel’s eyes were full of tears when he saw his bride for the first time, and the smile on her face showed pure joy and excitement.
They were married in December 2017 at The Westin Hotel in downtown St. Louis, with portraits at the nearby Citygardens. It was freezing cold, but we braved the outside for some lovely photos.
I loved the travel theme from their wedding – luggage tags for all their guests, the passport invitations they sent to all their friends and family, and their wedding cake, which featured a map. I also love pink, and Bailey incorporated pops of pink throughout the day as well. Her wedding dress was slightly pink, yet it still was so elegant and gorgeous. The bride also used traditional winter colors – darker reds and maroons, white roses, and greenery into her wedding. The bride’s mother and grandmother created the centerpieces and used silver trays, vases and votices she had in her home, as well as new pieces to accent her collection. The decorations were truly beautiful.
They invited guests from 13 different countries across the United States. During the toasts, the best man played voicemails and messages that their friends (who were unable to attend, and lived all around the globe) had left for the bride and groom. It was so touching. I think everyone was at the brink of tears! The groom also cried while dancing with his mother. It was such an emotional day, but you could feel the love radiating throughout the day. It was the best type of wedding.
Thank you Bailey and Axel for letting me take part in this amazing wedding.
